God is good

and that's a fact. Don't ever think otherwise.

I have learned an extremely valuable life lesson today. When you pray for God to do His will, be prepared for it not to be in line with your own, but recognize that He works for the best and accept His will no matter what it may be. Also, do not ever let anything, not matter how great it may seem, take the place of or get in the way of loving God in your life.

"I will bless the Lord who had counseled me; Indeed, my mind insructs me in the night. I have set the Lord continually before me; Because He is at my right hand, I will not be shaken. Therefore my heart is glad and my glory rejoices; My flesh also will dwell securely."
-Psalm 16:7-9

"This is the confidence which we have before Him, that, if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us. And if we know that He hears us in whatever we ask, we know that we have the requests which we have asked from Him."
-John 5:14-15

In other news, a random factoid of the day...driving from VT to home when going no more than 5mph over the speed limit takes 4 hours, 20 minutes and you get passed by all cars except for three. This compares to the 3 hours, 40 minutes it takes when averaging 15-30mph over the speed limit and you pass all but one car.
Certainly the second way has some advantages, but I have found through experimentation today that the first way is much safer, and much less nerve racking. It is also more adventageous to prayer since you're not feeling guilty the whole time.

And final thought of the day: In 21+ years of life I don't think I have ever run quite the full gamut of emotions that I have in the past 24 hours. I've learned a lot today.
