I've been reading this for the past hour or so:
Fewer Computer Science Majors
I've been reading all the comments from these IT professionals about how CS isn't all that great and jobs are impossible to find and pay sucks, etc, etc. And I've known this now for a couple years, but have been kinda denying it in my mind because I don't know what else to do. But now I'm just reading this and looking at my future and it suddenly doesn't look so hot. I feel like I've been doing something that I don't enjoy doing just to do it and now realizing that its not even that great to begin with and I feel like my life is wasting away with no point. But, I only have 3 semesters left, so I might as well finish up I guess, so I'll have some degree. There's no point in stopping the pain now. Argh, who knows.
This post here just about sums it all up, and through the co-op, I've started to experience it first-hand:
why IT sucks
And to finish this off, here's my quote of the day. It comes from my Demotivators calendar for August.
STUPIDITY: "Quitters never win, winners never quit, but those who never win AND never quit are idiots."
