Well today was...interesting, sorta. It was my last day in Willow Grove and we did a litle bit of work this morning from like 8-10:30, then called it a day. I was able to fix a couple of bugs. Then I chilled in the hotel for a bit and made plans to go see Steve since he lives about 30 mins west of Willow Grove. So I drove over to his place and we went out for lunch and then he showed me around the area and we went to the mall and stuff. It was really cool hanging with him. His house is so beautiful also, he has lots of land and its kinda out in farm country. I'd love to live there. So, I left him a little after 3pm and then got on my way back home. Then, not even 2 miles onto the toll road and BOOM! my tire blows out. So I'm kinda baffled and I pull over and change it. I put my spare on and it's flat also! Arrrghh!! Luckily I had my cell phone so I called up roadside assistance and they sent out a repair truck about 45 minutes later. So he comes by and throws a little air in my spare tire, just enough to get me 5 miles to the visitor area on the toll road and then charges me $50!! I was like, dude...what gives. Apparently $50 is just the PA service call fee and any other charges are on top of that. So that sucked. Finally, over an hour later, I was back on the road. I went over to the service area and then filled my spare all the way up so I could get home. Then I finally got to drive home. It started raining and there was some traffic so all in all, with all the delays, it took me about 5 hours to get home! :-( Oh well, at least I made it back safe. Then I ate some dinner, read some of my book and am now exhausted and ready for sleep!
Deep Thought of the Day:
When my tire blew out today it didn't really phase me. I wasn't really angry for a second, it felt weird. Normally, in the past, I would've been pissed at such a thing. But I just got out, changed it, called the service guy, and went home without much of a hitch. I dunno if I was just in such a good mood today that I didn't care or what. But I thank God for changing my heart so much in recent months that stuff like this doesn't get to me as much as it used to. And I thank God for the experience I went through with having my tire blow out because I've never changed a tire before or called roadside assistance, so it was a good learning experience.
